It is with great trepidation that I reveal the identity of Robin Rush. Robin has been my "nail lady" for more than 14 years. My nails are a moving billboard for the quality of her work. On an almost weekly basis I get asked who does my nails, followed by a request for Robin's telephone number. Word of mouth brings her enough business, and I don't want her to get to the point that I can't get an appointment for any occasional "nail emergency" that I might have. But when someone is this good at their craft, you just feel compelled to share.
The nail technique that consistently gets the most attention are the French manicures. Some call these Pink and Whites, but that's the problem with so many of the French manicures you see; they really are PINK and white. The pink is the color of those Lee press-on nails women used years ago. I don't understand paying for a manicure that makes your nails look like that.
Robin does a fantastic job with any nail style, but the skill she brings to Pink and Whites is amazing. When doing a Pink and White fill, she completely replaces the white acrylic on the tip of your nails EVERY TIME. Most other salons only replace the tips on every other visit. She buffs your nails to a high gloss. That's it; when you get up from her chair you don't have to think about your nails again until your next appointment. No chipping, yellowing or fading top coat; just shinny, carefree, beautiful, natural looking
nails. She does 99 percent of all work by hand, not with a dremel tool.
You've probably read the many stories about women suffering infections from contaminated utensils at some salons. This can't happen with Robin, who maintains a set of utensils for each client, kept in an envelope with your name on it between appointments. When Robin works on your nails, she is using your own personal files, etc.
Robin uses only the highest quality products, and the difference is apparent, especially in the colors and the natural look of the acrylics. Simply stated, in the 14 years I have been visiting Robin, I have never seen nails that exceeded the quality of her work. For all these reasons, the editors of Tustin Magazine choose Robin Rush as the Best Nail Technician in and around Tustin.
